"Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants." – Deuteronomy 32:2
ToT Children’s Ministry embodies the great adventure of knowing God, understanding His Word, and spreading the Good News. Our mission is to teach young ones about the love of God and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We place special emphasis on children, recognizing them as the future generation of the church. We firmly believe in the biblical principle that when a child is trained in the way he should go, he will not turn from it when he is old (Proverbs 22:6).
Our Strategy
We strive to fulfill our mission through:
1. Partnering with Parents
Parents bear the primary parental and spiritual responsibility for the holistic development of their children. We work closely with them to complement their efforts and reinforce their spiritual mandate (Deuteronomy 4:9). Additionally, we bridge the gap for children who may not receive spiritual nourishment at home.
2. Sunday School Teachers
Our teachers serve as shepherds, intercessors, encouragers, and mentors. They utilize their spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit to ignite a transformative journey in the lives of children.
Our Classes
1. Topaz (4–7 years) We introduce children to the fundamentals of the Christian faith, equipping them with basic biblical knowledge through stories, prayer, obedience, and scripture memorization. We also teach them about Christian etiquette and what it means to be a follower of Christ.
2. Diamond (8–11 years) At this stage, children deepen their understanding of God's Word and grow their relationship with Christ through structured Bible study. We emphasize character development, encouraging them to become imitators of Christ. Additionally, we focus on scripture memorization, helping them store God's Word in their hearts as a guide for daily living.
3. Onyx (12–16 years) This stage prepares children for spiritual maturity and active Christian living. They receive deeper biblical instruction, mentorship, and discipleship, equipping them with knowledge and skills to navigate teenage life with faith and integrity. From this group, they transition into The House of Jesse, where they are further nurtured in their faith. (Whitney will provide more details on The House of Jesse.)
Our Activities
1. Easter Sunday School Sunday
Held during Easter, this special event commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Each class presents creative performances, helping children understand the sacrifice of Jesus and its significance in their personal lives.
2. Church Anniversary
Every May, Sunday School children celebrate the church’s anniversary, thanking God for growth, blessings, and His faithfulness. This fun-filled event is themed differently each year, highlighting various dimensions of God’s grace.
3. Vacation Bible School (VBS)
VBS takes place during the August holidays for children aged 9–12 years. It features a mix of Bible lessons, crafts, games, music, and outreach activities, providing an opportunity for children to learn, bond, and grow in their faith.
4. Sunday School Sunday (Kantanta)
Held every December, this event focuses on gratitude and thanksgiving. Children participate in Kantanta, showcasing their talents through music, drama, and presentations. They also get an opportunity to serve in various church departments, nurturing their gifts and leadership potential.
5. Teens Camp
Every December, teenagers attend an annual Teens Camp, where they receive spiritual guidance, mentorship, and life skills training. Each year’s theme is carefully selected to address the specific challenges teens face. Activities include:
Workshops & Life Skills Training
Sports & Outdoor Activities
Campfire & Worship Sessions
Service Projects
The camp is designed to empower teenagers with biblical wisdom, resilience, and purpose, preparing them to thrive in their spiritual and personal lives.
