Bishop Dr. Fred Akama is the visionary Founder and Overseer of Tushiyah Ministries International, established in January 2017 in Kampala, Uganda. Tushiyah Ministries aims to raise dedicated and faithful followers through comprehensive biblical teachings and spiritual impartation, positioning them at the forefront of the end-time revival. Since its inception, the ministry has expanded across Africa, with branches in Kampala, Uganda; Lagos, Nigeria; and in several Kenyan cities, including Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, and Busia.
On June 28, 2019, Prophet Dr. Fred Akama was consecrated as a Bishop by His Grace, the Archbishop Dr. Arthur Kitonga, founder of the Redeemed Gospel Churches of Kenya. He holds a Doctor of Divinity Degree from the United Graduate College and Seminary International (USA). In February 2020, he was appointed as a Military Chaplain (Captain) by the Interfaith Chaplaincy of Nigeria during a ceremony at the Anglican Church of Messiah in Okota, Lagos, Nigeria, presided over by Chaplain General (Pastor) E. L. Opara of the Nigerian Army. Additionally, he was recognized as a United Nations Peace Ambassador by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAPWA) in October 2019. In 2023, he was appointed as the Country Director of IAPWA in Kenya.
Bishop Dr. Fred Akama is married to Senior Pastor Maureen Minayo Akama, and they are blessed with three children: Uriel Shammah Akama, Tekiah Hashanah Akama, and Aleph Yadah Akama.
As a prolific author, Bishop Dr. Fred Akama has written several notable books, including; Covenants: Understanding the Principles of Covenant Making, The Holy Spirit: Up Close and Personal, Iron Feet: Instruments of Dominion, Understanding the Mystery of Holy Communion and Four Cups of the Seder Meal, Weapons of War, The Covenant Dimension of Wealth and Overcoming Evil Altars and Family Foundations.
He is also the founder of Testimony TV, a telecommunications and media broadcasting station dedicated to providing inspiring Christian content to audiences in Kenya, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Europe. Testimony TV was officially launched on October 23, 2021, by His Grace Archbishop Dr. Arthur Kitonga, Ezekiel Mutua (CEO of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya), and other notable dignitaries.
Beyond ministry, Prophet Dr. Fred Akama has founded several business ventures in Kenya, the United States, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Dubai, reflecting his broad interests and entrepreneurial spirit.
